| Using the larger sable brush in my color box, I
scrubbed the disks to get ample color and then randomly applied four of them around the
edges of the tiles. For a better view, check the next photo. I also outlined the eyebrows
and lips with the dark yellow and brick reds. |
 |
| Next I threaded a yarn needle with some golden
colored fancy thread and stitched it from front to rear then back again. I decorated some
of the strings with woodpecker or mallard feathers and some polymer clay leaf beads I
made. |
 |
| Using a hot glue gun, I secured the knots on the
back of the tile securely then snipped the long ends to neaten it up. |
 |
| At this time I also hot glued the ribbon I had
tied into a knot for hanging. Wish I had a brown or Harvest colored ribbon, but this was
better than cooking string. |
 |
| When the hot glue cooled, I poked my finger into
the remaining pulp and slopped a glop over the thread and ribbon knots to give the paper a
finished look. |
 |
| To make sure the glops stayed in place and to give
them extra strength, I applied the same solution of watery glue and powders to them.
What's neat is I'd added some transparent micro glitter embossing liquid to the water, so
those spots on the back also twinkle! *grin* |
 |
| Last, but not least, I hardened the outside of the
glops with my heatgun, holding it close for about five minutes. Instead of rebaking, I let
these airdry a bit. I figured the time enroute would be sufficient to cure them. So! These
babies are ready for hanging. |
 |
And here they are!!
All finished and hanging!! Most cool, hm? Not bad for a beginner to papermaking!! Note the
third mask on the right end. That was the little beauty that crisped!
