Stargazing

I stand on the porch in the wee hours of the morning.
My Love lies sleeping inside.
I fill my eyes with the glory of the night
And soak its magic into my soul.
The Milky Way stretches across the broad expanse
Like fine glitter strewn on deep indigo velvet.
Fleeting pinpoints of light slide across the sky
Leaving brief golden trails to mark their passage.
I marvel at the peace and the power of emotion
Stargazing stirs in my breast.
It is only equal to the passion
I have for my Love
Lying blissfully unaware of my small adventure.
