The first seven photographs were taken July 15 in the alkali flats that used to be Spring Lake.

These are quite tiny - no more than a couple inches tall with an occasional stand that gets leggier and stands about five inches tall.

The flowers are so small you almost blink thinking you're seeing things. A lovely purple!

I wonder if the leggier plants are indicative of male and female plants?

It was quite amazing when I saw the small greasebush growing among these plants. The leaves are exactly the same. The only way I could tell the difference was from the stems.
