Prostrate Pigweed   Amaranthus blitum syn Amaranthus gracilis, Amaranthus ascendens., Amaranthus lividus L., Amaranthus lividus ssp. polygonoides, Amaranthus lividus var. polygonoides, Amaranthus viridus	also Amaranthus blitum subsp. blitum, Amaranthus blitum subsp. emarginatus, Amaranthus blitum var. emarginatus, Amaranthus blitum var. pseudogracilis, Amaranthus blitum subsp. oleraceus,  Euxolus viridus	aka Livid amaranth, Green amaranth, purple amaranth, Slender amaranth, Calalu, ao tou xian, amarante livide, aufsteigender Amarant, Baqlat Iamania, Bledo, Berry-bearing Orache, Kleine Majer, Strawberry Blite, Strawberry Spinach, Wild Amaranth	I found this on our property. The rosettes begin to creep out in late Spring.	The soil is alkaline, on a 3% grade and is saturated with water throughout the winter. It becomes quite arid by the end of February.
First true leaves set around mid-March.	Poisonous	This and the next three pictures were taken around March 20.

Since this is another one of the pigweeds, I would wager this would make a lovely paper.			This and the next two pictures were taken October 30.
