Found in my yard. 3% grade, dry, well drained arid soil, full sun.

Rosettes first appeared about the middle of February.

The seed pod stays on the stem like miniature money plants until the snow comes and knocks the pods off or high winds blow them loose.

By the time I photographed these dried seedpods on April 18, they had already been papery for a couple of weeks.
