forgetmenot001o.jpg (5652 bytes)
These were tooth by jowl next to speedwell, bedstraw and bur reed. They were up on dry soil but right at the water's edge.
I've heard it said the whole plant of forget-me-not is astringent and ophthalmic. Used as a lotion, it is a remedy for many eye diseases. It can also be ground into a powder and applied externally to wounds, and the leaf juice has been used to stop nose bleeds. The plant is harvested in May and can be dried for later use.
