American Speedwell
Veronica Americana
aka Brooklime
I caught the blooms in July.
I've found this little lovely all over town in hidden spots where it's nestled against the feet of bur reed, cattail, or flag iris.
.
This and the next six photographs were taken July 12.
I found this in Farmer Phil's ditch on Horsley Rd just off Highway 97 south of Klamath Falls.
There weren't very many. They were an average height of about 8-10 inches in damp, alkaline soil.
I'm a little surprised because this is the first time I've found these standing out all alone in full sun.

This and the next four photographs were taken August 5.
