Found on our land under the juniper where it gets shady and in rock crags on Bear Valley Rd.

It greens up starting in mid-February and goes to seed around mid-March.

The first few days of warm weather around here hit around mid-March.

This is the Star moss just one week after the seed pods appeared!! Photographed April 8.

Once the rain stops or it warms up to the 60s fahrenheidt during the day, this moss doesn't waste time drying up.

April 18, one week the temperatures have dropped and it's been snowing for seven days! This moss definitely likes it cold and wet!
