The Australian Critters Swap

These are all the critters I made. They are window clings made with black Classic Fimo for the outlines of the wings and for the torso, yellow Sculpey III for the body and Transparent Liquid Sculpey colored with traditional oil paint for the wings. I made the antennae out of black artistic wire and embedded them into the head before baking the entire contraption.

To quote the Richmond Birdwing Butterfly Conservation Project, "The Richmond Birdwing Butterfly (Ornithoptera Richmondia) is a beautiful Australian sub-tropical butterfly which has become extinct from two-thirds of its former range, primarily due to habitat destruction. It originally occurred from Maryborough in Queensland, to Grafton in New South Wales. The butterfly populations are now reduced in number and split into two separate areas."
